Robert shines as all-round CDC steamroll KIYC en route to MNCA Plate cricket final

Kshetrimayum Robert shone with both bat and ball as CDC (Sagolband) earned a smooth passage to the final of the 6th MNCA Plate Tournament after racking up a massive 170-run win over KIYC (Kshetrigao) in their semifinal match played at Langthabal Public Ground on Saturday.
Put in to bat, CDC posted a mammoth total of 229/7 in the stipulated 40 overs.
The Sagolband side's total revolved around performances of Kshetrimayum Robert, Priyojit Narengbam and Thounaojam Rakesh.
Robert smashed an unbeaten 59 off 45 balls as Priyojit scored 58 off 74 balls and Rakesh did his bit with 41 from 56 deliveries.
Viking Salam (15), Md Ataur Rahaman (10), Salam Pinky Singh (9), Geerish Kangabam (6 not out), Rajkumar Robindro (2) and Mutum Jodiba (1) were other run-getters in their innings.
In the process, three of CDC's wickets fell prey to Mohammad Abdulla Khan, two to Abdul Hamid and one each to Zakariya Shah and Abdur Rahim.
After their strong batting performance, CDC followed it up with a lethal bowling display that wiped out KI YC's batting order in just 12.4 overs.
Man of the match Kshetrimayum Robert showed his all-round prowess by taking three wickets in his two overs after his unbeaten 59.He also bowled a maiden and conceded just three runs.
Khursid Alam also impressed with three wickets as Rajkmar Robindro and Mutum Jodiba chipped in with two wickets apiece for the Sagolband squad.
Md Farhat (22) was the only batter who got into double digits in KIYC's forgettable run chase.
CDC and UCC will square off in the final.
