31st Manipuri Language Day celebrated across districts

The 31st Manipuri Language Day was celebrated by various colleges and organisations in different parts of the state on Saturday.
CI College Bishnupur Manipuri Department and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) celebrated the Day at its conference hall with Physics Department head Dr Th Nando Singh as chief guest and principal Dr Mutum Mangi Singh as president, while Manipuri Department head L Sobita Devi and IQAC co-ordinator Dr A Ingocha Singh were present as guests of honour.
The celebration was marked by delivery of a lecture on Manipuri language by assistant professor Dr Kh Radhapiyari Devi and poetry recitation.
Similarly, YK College, Wangjing IQAC, Research Committee and Manipuri Department celebrated Manipuri Language Day-2022 by organising a national seminar on the topic 'New Approaches To Manipuri Language, Literature, Folklore And Culture' at its new conference hall on Saturday.
The seminar was attended by Manipuri Department head assistant professor Dr Longjam Anand Singh as convener , Manipur University Manipuri Department head Prof Toijam Tampha Devi as moderator of the session and College principal Dr Soibam Giri Singh as president.
The programme was divided into morning session, parallel morning session, evening session and parallel evening session and had presentation of papers related to Manipuri language, literature, folklore and culture by various professors and research scholars from Assam University, MU and various colleges of the state.
On the other hand, Manipuri Language Day 2022 celebration was organised by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad (MSP), Jiribam at Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) conference hall, and was attended by Manipuri Short Story Society, India working president K Bidyapati as chief guest, MSP president Tha Panmoi as president and JIMPAL president Atom Ashangbi Devi as guest of honour, while Jiri College assistant professor Dr Ch Bijaya Devi was present as the moderator.
The programme participated by numerous writers of Jiribam and Cachar, Assam was marked by presentation of papers on Manipuri language and poetry recitation.
Meanwhile, Sahitya Seva Samiti (SSS) Kakching celebrated Manipuri Language Day, 2022 at Library and Information Centre hall, Kakching with SSS president Kshetri Bira and Kakching Library treasurer Yambem Satya as presidium members, while senior advocate N Madhu Singh and Kakching Library secretary & Kha Manipur College Kakching IQAC coordinator Ksh Joykumar Singh were present as special guest and resource person respectively.
