INC leaders, workers join BJP, felicitated

Altogether 38 leaders and workers who worked for the Indian National Congress (INC) for a long time including former Tengnoupal Block Congress Committee vice president Sochung Lhungdhim have joined BJP and a felicitation ceremony in their honour was held on Saturday at Moreh Ward No 8 Ngamkhai Veng.
During the event, Sochung Lhungdhim clarified that he along with other workers left INC and joined BJP having faith in the latter's ideology and after being satisfied with developmental works taken up by Tengnoupal MLA minister Letpao Haokip during a short time.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi, Union minister Dr RK Ranjan, horticulture minister Letpao Haokip, BJP state secretary A Bikram, State Disaster Management Authority vice chairman Yanglet Haokip, BJP state secretary Paokam Haokip.
At the event, A Sharda Devi said that more people from other political parties are joining BJP in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leader ship quality and faith in BJP's ideology.
She said that the pace of development in Tengnoupal AC more particularly in Moreh town will fasten under the initiative of local MLA and minister Letpao Haokip.
In his speech, Letpao Haokip said that the Centre has approved and sanctioned inter village road connectivity project worth Rs 129 crore and all inter-village roads in Moreh town would be black-topped within December this year.
