Panel discussion on peace organised

Diocesan Social Service Society, Imphal (DSSS) in association with NEDSS and North East Social Research, Guwahati organised a panel discussion on the theme of 'Professional Dialogue for Peace' at DSSS conference hall, Mantripukhri on Saturday.
Entrepreneur K Gopen Mojesh moderated the panel discussion, during which various experts shared their views on issues ranging from health, social, security and religious perspective.
NESRC, Guwahati director Rev Dr Walter Fernandes gave the opening speech and said that peace is a general interest field.
Everyone wants peace and concerted efforts are needed to maintain the same in the society, state and country, he asserted.
He then said that the panel discussion was organised with the aim of bringing peace in a state like Manipur, which is resided by different communities.
As part of the panel discussion, Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Imphal Rev Dr Peter Haokip spoke on 'Practices of Faith is way io peace'; Manipur Health Services medical officer Dr Amom Jotin on 'Health Care Practices is way to peace'; Non-Violence and Peace Education in Manipur director and trainer Dr Leban Serto on 'Peace Education, A Way forward' and Academic Programme Development at PINE Manipur and Nagaland director Dr Deben Sharma on D'ialogue in the Context of Conflict and Unrest in Manipur'.
The discussion was also attended by staff of DESM, AMCU, AMCO, MCYO, MCWO, DE, CRI, peace volunteers and DESS.
