For the first time in the history of the State, members of Kabui communities visited the Shree Shree Govindajee temple today to offer prayers and offerings.
The event was organised by Shree Shree Govindajee Temple Board to overcome the orthodox tradition of segregation on communal basis.
A large number of members from around 20 Kabui villages in the State came to pray in the temple along with offerings and traditional Kabui prayer songs devoted to Shree Shree Govindajee were performed in Shree Shree Govindajee Temple.
Shree Shree Govindajee Temple Board members also returned the offerings made by the Kabui brethren.
With regards to organising the rare event, Shree Shree Govindajee Temple Board informed that it has been done to strengthen the unity and integrity of the State by overcoming any form of communal bias and to reaffirm that 'everyone is equal in the eyes of God' .
