1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament : Bishomcha's 6-wicket haul fires ESU into final

ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound rode on Bishomcha Khundrakpam's 6 wicket haul to cruise to an easy 8 wicket win over TCMDC, Thongju and set up 1st MNCA U-14 Boys tournament's title clash with PTRC, Patsoi.
In the second semi-final match of the tournament staged today at PCC ground, TCMDC elected to bat first but were bundled out for a total of 102 runs in 22.3 overs as Bishomcha Khundrakpam wreaked havoc across their batting line up to finish with best bowling figures of 6-0-18-6 (6 wickets for 18 runs in 6 overs) .
ESU then eclipsed the total in just 12 overs to seal the final ticket.
TCMDC got its innings on a rough note with Soibam Venus removing Maverick for 2 before star of the day Bishomcha opened his account by removing Takhellambam Nganba for 7 in the 10th over to reduce the Thongju team to 51 for 2 .
Hanjabam Naoba then undone Laishram Valindra (11) for the third wicket in the 13 th over.
The 14th over was the turning point for TCMDC innings as Bishomcha completed his hattrick by removing Rain Urikhinbam (31), Maibam Napolian (0) and Nelson Laithangbam (0) in the last three successive deliveries of the 14th over.
Hanjabam Naoba completed his two wicket haul the next over dismissing Sagolshem Rojesh before Bishomcha caught and bowled Moramba Mutum for a 3-ball duck and bowled out Phanjoubam Nikesh for golden duck and completed his 6 wicket haul.
From 73 for 9 in 15.3 overs, Lokeshor Khumanthem (22) and Vishonath Laishram (6) steered TCMDC past the 100 mark before N Kenedy bowled out Lokeshor to wrap up the innings in the third delivery of the 23rd over.
In reply, Hanjabam Donba (34 not out) and Md Atif Shah (34) played sensibly to set up ESU's winning 103 within 12 overs despite Laishram Valindra removing M Amitkiyon and Md Atif Shah for the second wicket.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam of ESU who starred with a hattrick on the way to his 6-wicket haul was adjudged man of the match.
The final match is scheduled to be held on August 8 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
