Imphal, August 06 2022:
All Manipur Indane Distributors' Association (AMIDA) has appealed to the public not to entertain any submission of Aadhaar and cash to any third party for availing LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY) 2.0.AMIDA made it clear that the public should pursue LPG connection by providing their respective documents to the nearby LPG distributorship only, and not make any financial payments, as the LPG connection under the PMUY 2.0 is free of cost.
In a joint release, AMIDA general secretary O Budhi Singh, vice president M Sukumar Singh and joint secretary G Robindro Sharma stated that PMUY 2.0 was announced during the Union Budget ofFY 2021-22 and was launched on August 10, 2021 at Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh.
Apart from a deposit-free LPG connection as practiced in previous PMUY scheme, PMUY 2.0 will also provide free of cost first refill and gas stove to the beneficiaries.
In the new scheme, there are no financial or loan options which were included in previous scheme, and every beneficiary can avail the LPG connection totally free of cost, it informed.
AMIDA has reports that some distributors with the help of local people have collected cash and documents from numerous beneficiaries in the state under PMUY 2.0 scheme.
In-spite of the cash and documents submitted, most of the beneficiaries did not receive any LPG equipment or LPG related documents and some of them even do not have knowledge of which distributor they have applied for the PMUY 2.0 connection and as such, they are having difficulties on to who to pursue their LPG connection.
When the beneficiaries approach their nearest distributor, in pursuance of PMUY connection, they find that their respective Aadhaar are linked to other distributors, which the beneficiaries have no knowledge of, since the documents such as Aadhaar had been collected in large as mentioned.
Even after getting to know to which particular distributor their Aadhaar is linked and their cash was deposited, the beneficiaries face lots of difficulties to avail the PMUY 2.0 connection, it said.
AMIDA further said that additional cash is demanded from beneficiaries when they ask for LPG connection and if the additional money is not provided the distributor refuses to give the LPG connection.
Thus, most of the beneficiaries do not get their requisite LPG connection, while some of them receive their LPG equipment without DGCC and subscription voucher.
Huge numbers of beneficiaries whose documents have been col lected are still not getting their PMUY connections.
These beneficiaries are facing a situation where they will riot have the opportunity to get their free PMUY connection, in the event that the government scheme concludes, it further observed.
