Moreh meet reviews Dengue outbreak

Review meeting on Dengue outbreak in Moreh was held on Saturday at the conference hall of sub-divisional hospital, Moreh.
Chaired by director (health services) Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, the meeting was also attended by additional director (PH) Dr Y Gopal Krishna, State Malaria officer Dr AR Chisti and CMO Tengnoupal Kh Gojen Singh.
During the meeting, Dr Sasheekumar said that Moreh is an important place for South East Asia and the border town is frequented by tourists and traders.
While informing participants about precautions to be taken to prevent Dengue, he said that stagnant water particularly lying in unused tyres must be removed to prevent mosquito breeding.
He also acknowledged that concerted efforts of doctors, nurses, medical staff and.
community leaders have managed to contain spread of Dengue in the border town.
He also informed the participants that operation theatre equipment installed at sub- divisional hospital Moreh remained unutilised and government authorities will be urged to resume minor operation at the hospital so that the costly equipment could be utilised.
He then appealed to community leaders of Moreh to join hands in preventing spread of Dengue in the border town.
The meeting was also attended by staff of medical department posted in Moreh and leaders of Meetei Council Moreh, Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Gorkha Samaj Samiti Moreh, All Community Development Organisation Moreh and others.
