Heart disease screening camp conducted

A one-day free heart disease screening camp for children aged 0-18 years was organised by Shija Heart Beat Imphal, in collaboration with Community Health Center (CHC) of Moirang and District Early Intervention Center (DEIC), Bishnupur at CHC, Moirang under the aegis of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) on Saturday.
According to SHRI business development deputy manager Takhellambam Premkumar, a total of 95 children were screened by a team led by SHB Cardio Thoracic consultant & Vascular surgeon Dr Sidhartha Lukram during the camp wherein free consultation and ECHO screening were also provided to all registered individuals.
ASD, VSD, PDA device closures, and open surgery cases were detected during the camp.
These children will be treated at Shija Heart Beat under the RBSK Scheme, added the release.
RBSK is a National Rural Health Mission programme that aims at early identification and intervention for children from birth to 18 years who are diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs), Cleft lip and Cleft Palate, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), Congenital Cataract, Congenital Deafness, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Otitis Media, Dental Caries and Vision Impairment.
