7th MNCA Plate Tournament : RRCC seal slender 1 wicket win against AKSDO

RRCC-Churachandpur held their nerves to beat AKSDO-Khangabok by a wicket in a keenly contested Group A match in the ongoing 7 th MNCA Plate Tournament today at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground.
It was the second win for the Churachandpur team in as many as three matches, having beaten KIYC by 27 runs on December 30 .
Sent in to bat first, AKSDO were bundled out for 125 runs in 32.4 overs as Thangkhopao (4/24 in 7.4 overs) and Haojalen Kipgen (3/30 in 7 overs) led the RRCC bowling attack before RRCC sealed the victory in 37.1 overs courtesy last wicket stand between Louriyam Thingo (18) and David Das (5) .
AKSDO were stunned at the onset of their innings as Khamba Khundongbam was sent off on golden duck by Thangkhopao in the first ball itself.
Ninthoujam Shyamsunder of RRCC then dispatched Chinglensana (5) and Jibam (12) to reduce AKSDO to 21 for 3 in 5.2 overs.
Thangkhopao then got rid of Winchelly Laishram (30) off a run out after he stitched together a 52 run partnership for the fourth wicket with
Bishorjit Mangang.
Thangkhopao then bowled out AJtash Laishram for 4 and set up Saikhom Kaiku's catch for 1 both in the 19th over (2nd and 5th deliveries) to reduce AKSDO to 84 for 6 .
Haojalen Kipgen then picked up three wickets including AKSDO's second highest run getter Bishorjit Mangang (26) in succession before Thangkhopao returned again and wrapped up AKSDO's innings in 32.4 overs by removing Rohit Laishram for 9 .
Chasing 126 for the win, RRCC had a stuttering start losing both the winners in 4.3 overs to Akash Laishram with just 7 runs on the scoreboard.
They slipped further to 53 for 7 within 17 overs as Rohit Laishram (3/11) and Laishram Nirash (2/28) bowled exceptionally well to stun the RRCC line up but Rahul Kumar anchored well and struck 3 fours and 1 six and took the team to a sniffing distance of a win before he was caught by Khamba Khundongbam for 42 runs off Rohit Laishram's delivery.
Louriyam Thingo (18) and David Das (5) tnen had a cautious last wicket stand to steer RRCC to a winning total of 127 runs in 37.1 overs.
Thangkhopao who snared four key AKSDO wickets was adjudged man of the match.
