Thoubal DTTA, MUC felicitate sportspersons, local elders

A felicitation function in honour of table tennis players who won medals at the 2nd North East Olympics-2022 and those who have passed the umpiring examination conducted by the International Table Tennis Federation and selected as international umpires was held at Thoubal District Table Tennis Indoor Stadium located at Thoubal College, on Sunday.
During the function, Moirangthem Romen of Singjamei Yumnam Leikai and Dev Akoijam of Thoubal Wangmataba who passed the umpire course of International Table Tennis Federation were facilitated.
Table tennis players who won medals at the 2nd North East Olympics-2022 held in Shillong last year including Thomas Elangbam, K Rohit, L Bikram and Y Boy (silver medallist in men's competition); Sapam Ashalata, H Senerita Devi, A San-atombi Devi, H Liya Devi (silver medallist in women's team); L Bikram and Y Boy (silver medallist in men's double team); Thomas Elangbam and K Rohit (bronze medallist in men's doubles); Sapam Ashalata aand Huirongbam Senerita Devi (bronze medallist in women's doubles); Thomas Elangbam and Sapam Ashalata (bronze medallist in mix doubles); and A Sanatombi Devi (silver medallist in women's singles), were also felicitated on the occasion.
The function which was jointly organised by Manipur Table Tennis Association (MTTA) and Thoubal District Table Tennis Association (TDTTA) was attended by MTTA secretary Th Jayanta Singh, district table tennis association Imphal East advisor retired IRS Devendro Singh, TDTTA secretary W Subash Singh, Thoubal district veteran table tennis association secretary S Ilen Singh and other players.
Meanwhile, Moirang Kampu Union Club (MUC) felicitated 23 elders who are above 80 years of age, National Arm Sports silver medalist W Khomdonbi Singh and nine players of sub-junior and junior Kabaddi team of the area in a function held at the local community hall on Sunday.
Moirangkampu GP pradhan L Rameshwaram, MUC president W Ananda Meetei and Moirangkampu Development Committee president Ningthoujam Manimohon attended the occasion as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
