Minister Susindro calls for unity of Manipuris

Manipuri Diaspora Association (MDA), NCT Delhi celebrated its annual foundation day at Dwarka, Delhi on Sunday with PHE and CAF&PD minister L Susindro Meitei, MDA vice president Ng Peni and president RK Brajachand Singh as presidium members.
In a release, MDA president RK Brajachand informed that Manipuris settling in and around Delhi and holding different positions in government and private sectors attended the function.
Those gathered also offered floral tributes and observed two minutes' silence in the memory of departed MDA members.
Speaking at the function, minister Susindro stressed the need for unity among ourselves and work for the welfare of Manipuri society.
While observing that among the Manipuris, the Meetei community lacks a platform to meet regularly, he suggested a forum like Manipuri Diaspora to facilitate periodical meeting for discussion on means and ways to preserve cultural identities of Manipuri in Delhi also.
The ground realities in Manipur should be properly understood before expressing opinions on any matter on social media platforms.
Sincere efforts are being made by the present government to give equal emphasis in the development to every community and similarly for the welfare of Manipuris settling in Delhi and its adjoining areas, he added.
