AR units distribute solar street lights

Imphal, January 08 2023:
Chassad Battalion Assam Rifles on Thursday distributed five solar lights each to Phaikoh, Humine Thane and Chamu villages in Kamjong district under Operation Sadbhavana project for the year 2022-23.According to PRO IGAR (S), the project undertaken by Assam Rifles will aid infrastructure & economic development in these remotely located villages true to its motto of "Friends of the North-east".
The solar lights were handed over to members of Village Council who in their vote of thanks expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for providing public utility facilities in the area and pledged their support towards security forces to maintain peace in the region.
Similarly, Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed of eight solar lights to a village under Chakpikarong sub-division of Chandel district under Assam Rifles Civic Action programme for the year 2022-23 on January 7 in a function attended by village chief, secretary, youth club members, cashier and pastor.
In their vote of thanks, the village chief and members expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for such welfare initiative and assured to extend cooperation to the Assam Rifles towards restoring peace and harmony in the region.
In another release, the PRO informed that Chas-sad Battalion Assam Rifles distributed seven Solar Street Lights to Mollen village of Kamjong district on January 6 under Assam Rifles Civic Action Projects for the financial year 2022-23.The scheme will facilitate electrification of streets in the village and provide a secure environment post sundown and infuse a sense of security in the village.
Furthermore, the project will also help for infrastructure & economic development of the remote village, added the PRO.
