MNSU urges Govt to build memorial museum

Magulong Na Students' Union (MNSU) appealed to the state government to build a memorial museum at Magulong in the name of late N Pouheu Zeme, former deputy speaker of Manipur legislative Assembly.
Pouheu Zeme was a dynamic leader of Zeliangrong and Nagas, and a torchbearer of Zeliangrong community.
The MNSU made the appeal in a memorandum submitted to Water Resource, Relief & Disaster Management minister Awangbow Newmai through Namsinrei Panmei, former ADC chairman Tamenglong, during the 4th Magulong Na Students' Union Conference (Manipur, Assam and Nagaland) .
The conference organised under the theme "Building on the Best" was held on January 7 and 8.The memorandum stated that Magulong is a heritage village that maintains a rich set of traditional values and culture including art of traditional dance, folk songs, folktales, art crafts, greenery mountain, Mouth Kisha, etc.
A museum built in the village will attract and promote tourism which will bring development in the Magulong region and the state, it added.
On the occasion, a 'Clean & Green Home' award was given to three families by Ever Spring Park Committee, Magulong.
