Symposium on Khuraijam Nimaicharan held

A one-day symposium on the topic "Khuraijam Nimaicharan gi khorjei Khudol sing neinaba" was jointly organised by Iram-dam Meeyamgi Apunba Khorjeil Lup (IMAKHOL) and family of the late writer Khuraijam Nimaicharan Singh at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday.
The event commenced with offering of floral tributes to the photo of Nimaicharan led by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad president Longjam Joychandra and IMAKHOL president Dr Chingangbam Chandrakala, who were chief guest and president respectively.
During the first session of the symposium moderated by MU School of Humanities dean Prof Nahakpam Aruna, former lecturer of NG College Chingangbam Sangaijaobi, MU Manipuri department associate professor Dr Akoijam Shantibala and MU Manipuri department associate professor Dr Wahengbam Kumari Chanu presented papers on "Khuraijam Nimaicharan gi Novel (Unabi Wari) parubada", "Seireng da Khuraijam Nimaicharan" and "Khomjinba atenba nungshi wari da Khuraijam Nimaicharan" respectively.
During the second session moderated by Sahitya Akademi Translation Award recipient Laimayum Birendrakumar Sharma, WAD Writers president Salam Tomba, Assam University Manipuri department head Prof Haobam Ninikumar and Mayai Lambi College assistant professor Dr Maya Nepram presented papers on the topics "Khuraijam Nimaicharan gi nungshit ti paba heite", "Translation theory gi mityengdagi Khuraijam Nimaicharan" and "Khuraijam Nimaicharan gi Manipur da cahi ahum da mityeng ama" respectively.
