State Level Junior Boxing Championships : IW's L Binod Kumar clinches 66 kg category title

Imphal, June 03 2022:
Leimapokpam Binod Kumar of Imphal West grabbed the junior boys' 66 kg category gold in the 29th Junior Boys and 13th Junior Girls State Level Boxing Championships organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing ring.
Binod Kumar edged Takhellambam Borish of Bishnupur 3-2 in the final bout today to earn Imphal West a gold medal.
The 63 kg category gold medal in the meantime went to Sinam Allar Singh of Imphal West who upstaged Rengneivar Serto Kom of Churachandpur 5-0 in a one sided final bout.

In the 60 kg category final, Punshiba Moirangthem edged Aribam Sakil of Kakching 3-2 to grab the gold as Kakching's Md Miraj sealed the 52 kg category gold easing 5-0 past Moirangthem Yaikhom of Imphal East in the final.
Ukhrul's Mashungchui Phungshok meanwhile fetched the junior boys 48 kg title as he romped to an easy 5-0 win over Bishnupur rival Angom Ronaldo in the final while Md Mujahid claimed the 46 kg category gold with an easy 4-1 win over Imphal East's Mutum Nikison.
Ten semi-final matches were also staged earlier in the day.
Laishram Jayaluxmi of Imphal East was able to secure her place in the junior girls 46 kg competition final beating Kimhoinei Telen Kom 5-0.She will be meeting Imphal West's Luwangleima Soram who eased to a 5-0 win over Thoubal's Yangambam Boniya in another semi-final clash, in the final.
Meanwhile, Khumanthem Sinthoi Devi of Imphal West and Luxmi Nongthombam of Bishnupur will vie for junior girls 52 kg category title.
Khumanthem Sinthoi Devi earned the final ticket beating Hijam Jenika Devi of Thoubal in a semi-final clash before Lumxi thumped Imphal East's Priety Laishram in another clash.
Fighting for the junior boys' 50 kg title will be Amarjit Takhellambam of Bishnupur and Thongam Nilbir Singh of Imphal West.
Amarjit upstaged Ukhrul's Thuiranring Kharing 4-1 in the semi-final bout before Nilbar outclassed (RSC-I) Sumit Khumukcham of Kakching in another semi-final bout.
Ngariyanbam Jupiter of Imphal East will on the other hand, take on Yaikhomba Laishram of Bishnupur in the junior boys 54 kg final.
Jupiter outlasted Mayengbam Herojit of Kakching with a comfortable 5-0 win in the semi-final while Yaikhomba edged out Meekness Khaidem of Imphal East 3-2 to complete the line up.
The 57 kg final on the other hand will see Elangbam Sunanda of Kakching square off against Bishnupur's Khomdram Bikash in the 57 kg category final.
Elangbam Sunanda thumped Jayrajs Yengkhom 4-1 in the first semi-final bout today before Bikash sealed a RSC-2 victory over Moirangthem Lanngamba Meitei of Imphal East in another semi-final bout.
After today's results, Kakching are now leading the medal tally with 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals while Imphal West are trailing behind with 2 gold and 5 bronze medals.
