Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam,Manipur and Nagaland) condemned the indiscriminate firing into the residence of G Panti, a Human Rights activist, by some unidentified armed personnel at Langol Tarung, Imphal on the evening of June 6, 2014, according to the joint statement of the General Secretary and Information Secretary of ZB(AMN) .
Stating probability of the sudden attack made by the miscreants as a threat to stop the defence of G Panti on the struggle for justice for the helpless victims of rapes, tortures, human trafficking, extra judicial killings and even racial discrimination, ZB called all the right thinking people of the region including more than 90 Zeliangrong villages settled in Imphal valley to not spare the perpetrators and be booked accordingly for committing such life threatening crime against an individual who advocates for the helpless victims.
The statement added that the state apathy and the inaction of law enforcing agencies because of caste or political influence, riches and favouritism as in the case of mainland India should be held responsible for the crimes and the offenders to become so emboldened this far.
The Zeliangrong Baudi will not remain as a silent spectator if such heinous crimes continue, the statement warned.
