Three ambulances provided by the Centre under the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) have arrived in Imphal and they are ready for use in interior border areas of three hill districts namely Chandel, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.
The three ambulances have been given by the Government of India to Manipur through its Planning Department under BADP.
The State Government has announced to hand over the three ambulances to the Deputy Commissioners of the three districts.
Official sources said the ambulances are well-equipped vehicles and are to be used to take sick and injured persons to hospitals and other health centres in inaccessible rural border areas of the three hill districts.
All these three ambulances will start catering to the need of the villagers during emergencies as soon as they are handed over to the respective district administration.
