Felicitation cum career counselling held

United Sapormeina Youth Club feted HSLC and HSE successful candidates of Sapormeina area for the first time in a function held at CC Hall, Gamnom Sapormeina.
IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip, ADC Sadar Hills Executive Member Lunthang Haokip attended the function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Altogether 51 successful students from Sapormeina village including 22 first divisioners and 10 second divisioners of HSLC as well as 16 first divisioners and 2 second divisioners of HSE 2014 were felicitated.
They were also given career counselling by James Doujapao Haokip in the first session.
It may be mentioned that Obed Letlensang Haokip s/o Onthang Haokip of Sapormeina village secured 12th position in the recently declared HSLC examination 2014 with 91.4 per cent including letter mark in all the subjects.
Speaking at the occasion, Ngamthang Haokip said that reading books and studying books has different meanings.
The Minister said that reading books deals with quantity education and studying book gives quality education.
Lunthang Haokip while emphasizing the importance of quality education said that the standard of education in Sadar Hills is still not satisfactory.
He also emphasized on the important roles and responsibilities of parents towards shaping a good academic and competitive career.
President United Sapormeina Youth Club Th Helen Kipgen in his presidential speech pointed out that student needs encouragement as well as felicitation and acknowledgement in their success which will in turn gives them confidence in their future endeavour.
