AIMT topper meets savior, financial worries resolved

Kangabam Alex, who stood first position in All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Test for the State of Manipur despite being born in a poor family got relief when Dr Th Suresh, former Director of Directorate of Health, Government of Manipur announced that he will borne all expenses that will be required by the student in admitting in any of the medical colleges.
The announcement was made during a felicitation function organized jointly by Keishamthong Kendra Development Committee and Laishom Ibomcha, MLA Keishamthong A/C at the MLA's residence in honor of Kangabam Alex and Ronda Latsaheb Potsangbam who secured second position in the test for the State.
MLA Ibomcha also presented a cash reward of Rs 50, 000 which was donated by his daughter Dr L Alpana to Alex in recognition of his commendable achievement.
Ronda Potsangbam was also honored with certain sum of money.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ibomcha said that the exemplary success of Alex against all odds is a proud moment for whole people of Manipur and his achievement has set a good example to fellow poor students in the State.
The MLA further announced that he will also be providing a sum of Rs 10, 000 annually as expenditures to Alex till completion of his medical course.
Maintaining that he had already provided financial assistance to three poor students in pursuing their MBBA course, MLA Ibomcha said that he is also ready to help Alex financially in completing the medical course if the family of the student agrees.
As part of the programme, 144 disabled persons in Keishamthong A/C were presented monetary entitled to them under the Social benefit Programme by the MLA.
