The Maring tribe's pre-harvest festival, "Lamlai" was celebrated on Thursday at Leibi village in Tengnoupal district.
Lamlai festival is celebrated as a part of the Maring community's custom of clearing the roads before harvesting their crops.
In this regard, social worker K Prakash Maring has appealed to the State Government to help preserve and promote the Lamlai festival which is an integral part of Maring community's tradition, culture & customs.
