Imphal West CDO recovers IMFL from truck

In a major recovery of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), Imphal West police commando recovered 553 cases of IMFL of different brands from a truck.
According to a police source, some teams of CDO-IW rushed to Laimaton area of Bishnupur district upon getting information about transportation of IMFL on Thursday after conveying prior information to Bishnupur district police control room.
The teams conducted frisking and checking in the said area.
During frisking, one Tata truck (NL 01AD-0227) was stopped for checking.
During spot verification, the driver identified himself as Md Manouwar Ali (47), son of Md Mansur Ali of Yairipok Tulihal Awang Leikai, Imphal East and the handyman as Rupesh Kumar (21), son of Anandi Mahto of Mantripukhri Ward No 4, Imphal East.
On checking the truck, 553 cases of IMFL of different brands were found loaded in the truck driven by Md Manouwar.
During further verification, both the driver and the handyman disclosed that the owners of the IMFL are one Kamlesh and his son Kunal from Assam.
The IMFL were to be delivered to Churachandpur.
The recovered IMFL include 23 cases of 375ml Old Monk, six cases of 750ml Old Monk, 29 cases of 180ml Old Monk, 12 cases of 750 ml Royal stag, 29 cases of 375 ml Royal stag, 12 cases of 180 ml Royal stag, 28 cases of 750 ml Mc Dowell, 36 cases of 375 ml Mc Dowell, 12 cases of 180 cml Mc Dowell, 24 cases of 375 cml Sterling Reserve, 24 cases of 180 ml Sterling Reserve, 184 cases of Tuborg can beer (500 ml), eight cases of 180 ml Blenders Pride and 126 cases of Kingfisher can beer (500 ml) .
Both the detainees and the recovered IMFL along with the truck have been handed over to excise department at Lamphel in Imphal West for further necessary legal action, the source added.
