Lairouching school celebrates silver jubilee

PP Christian English High School, Lairouching celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Friday under the theme 'Ebenezer' .
The celebration function held at the school premises was attended by Mao MLA L Dikho as chief guest and former deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly K Raina as president while former minister Francis Ngajokpa and Maram Union president K Raisong were present as special guests.
The programme was administered by Kavanam Baptist Church pastor Rev Ch Tuiba.
PP Christian English High School was established by Ng Joseph in 1996 with a vision to usher in the light of education in the region for holistic development.
The land for the school was donated by Paiduumei-Paisanamei (Nzangmei) clan.
Though the school started with only 142 students of classes KG-1 to V in the first year, it progressed smoothly and got recognition of BSEM up to class IX-X in the year 2006-07 .
The school has produced 465 matriculates till date.
In his welcome address, principal Ng Joseph said that PP Christian English High School attained its 25 years of existence in 2021 but could not celebrate on time due to some reasons.
He said that the theme of the silver jubilee celebration was selected as 'Ebenezer' which means 'Stone of Help' .
He also recalled numerous trials and hardships encountered while making the school to reach to its present condition.
In his speech, K Raina thanked Ng Joseph for establishing the school at the time when there was no school in Lairouching area and expressed elation that many students of the school have now become leaders of the community.
Francis Ngajokpa, in his speech, appealed to the gathering to live harmoniously with one another.
The event was marked with presentation of Jubilee Choir entitled 'Ebenezer', cultural programme like action songs, choreography, traditional show, Nepali dance, Manipuri dance, Bamboo dance, folk songs.
The event was also attended by CSO leaders, proprietors of different schools, village headmen, authorities of different villages, women leaders and student leaders.
