AMESCO organises Ningol Chakkouba at Thamlai village

Imphal, October 28 2022:
All Manipur Ethnical Socio Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) in association with Thamlai village authority organised the 29th Ningol Chakkouba at Thamlai village in Tengnoupal district on Thursday.
According AMESCO publicity secretary W Deepu, the festival was organised with the objective to bring emotional integration among the different communities and to bolster the bond of brothers and sisters.
Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Lilong Haoreibi College principal Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh, AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, MEIPAK NINGTHOU Committee co-convenor Arshad Baseimayum, Komrem Union Manipur president Amang Seto Sagang, Thamlai village chief DK Songin, Thamlai VA chairman Makun-gang Kosang and AMESCO vice-president W Chinglemba attended the event as members of the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhanabir Laishram expressed belief that celebrating the festival by involving different communities would help in bringing unity and emotional integrity among the indigenous communities.
He also emphasised on the need for utilising the natural resources of the state to accelerate economic development.
The secretary informed that the celebration concluded with presentation of gifts to the participating women.
AMESCO also thanked all the well-wishers and those who supported the event in different ways and capacities.
On the other hand, retired Colonel H Sarat and his family hosted a grand feast at Ideal Blind School, Takyel in relation with Ningol Chakkouba festival on Thursday and presented gifts to the inmates, according to a statement of The Welfare Association for the Blind.
Indigenous Minority Socio Cultural Organisation Manipur (IMSCOM), Indigenous Minority Organisation Manipur (IMOM), United People's Front (UPF) Manipur, Haomee Research Guild Manipur (HRGM), National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) and Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council also celebrated Ching-Tam Ningol Chakkouba at Ima Khunthokhanbi Ihougal Marup Shanglen, Thangmeiband College Gate on Thursday.
IMSCOM president Momsokam Bapui, UPF Manipur president N Rupachandra, HRGM chairman Robin Shinglai, IMOM president Rengenson Thanga, NIP-CO vice-president Birendra Chingakham and MAPI Council president KC Romeo attended the programme as presidium members.
