Imphal, January 19 2010:
In protest against heavy monetary demands of various UG groups, Kakching Bazar would shut down for two days with effect from tomorrow.
Announcing this in a statement, president of Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Organisation (KBBWA) Th Budhi Singh informed that all the shops would remain close during the bandh.
However, there would not be any obstruction in the movement of vehicles.
While the bandh is in effect, Wakat Meepham would also be staged every day from 10 am to 3 pm, he further informed, while appealing to the women vegetable sellers to extend their support to the bandh as well.
Furthermore, the KBBWA statement strongly refuted charges that Naorem Nimaichand Singh s/o late Gourachand Singh of Kakching Ningthou Leikai and Salam Achou Singh s/o Salam Chaoba Singh of Salam Leikai are active members of KYKL and that they are involved in extortion activities under the command of one Somorendra.
