The railway dispute concerning Marangjing (Makhuam) village under Tamenglong block was discussed today at the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong chamber with Sumant Singh IAS, Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong in the chair and dispute parties.
After the discussion, the parties pledged to work for speeding up the development work.
Marangjing section covering a distance of 89.782 to 97.900 kilometres is embroiled in a dispute among the Village Authority and land owners over compensation for damaging standing crops and the land, a reliable source said.
Both parties agreed to go with the revised new alignment survey of 10 February 2010, those persons who had drawn the railway compensation and who are not included in the new alignment survey should deposit the same to the Deputy Commissioner/Collector Land Acquisition Tamenglong, the source said.
In the last assessment some 284 households of Marangjing was entitled award of railway compensation for damaged standing crops, however, land owners are yet to be identified, the source said.
The person who had drawn the money were identified as one GD Meingamlung who received a sum of Rs.5,16,294.00 by account cheque No.20228 dt.
21.12.08 and account no.20229 dt.
21.12.08 of Rs.1,44,00,267.00, Lungan Gangmei who received a sum of Rs.35,00,000.00 with cheque no- 20230 dt.
21.12.08, Khamjoklung who received a sum of Rs.30,00,000.00 with cheque no- 20231 dt.
21.12.08 and Majabung Gangmei who received a sum of Rs.5,36,000.00 with a cheque no- 217943 dt.
10.03.09, the source said.
In the meantime, the Deputy Commissioner also informed the Hueiyen Lanpao that one show cause notice has been served today to one Executive Engineer of DRDA Tamenglong identified as Dirang Gangmei for delaying the BRGF works and failed to take up any action against the delay.
