Imphal, January 19 2010:
The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of AMTUC and AMGEO has today strongly protested the statement of CM O Ibobi, who also holds the finance portfolio, who stated that there is no fund.
In a statement, L Priyobratta, information and publicity secretary of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, asked where an amount of Rs 234.53 crore for increment of pays for pensioners and employees sanctioned under advanced SPA had gone.
It stated that a total amount of Rs 2000 crore, including Rs 234.53 crore for pay increment, was sanctioned as per an agreement between the state government and Deputy Planning Commission on 19-8-09 for advance payment from November 2009 till March 2010 .
Meanwhile, as part of the indefinite cease work strike launched by the JAC, various state government employees today turned out to protest the indifferent attitude of the state government in implementing the 6th Pay Commission recommendation in the state.
The statement warned that the stir would be intensified if the government remains adamant to the demands of the employees.
Employees in the essential service departments are exempted from joining the strike in view of their services to the people.
But, they would be compelled to join the strike if the demands of the employees remain unheeded.
