The government today assured the JAC formed against the brutal attack on Shanti, Chandra and Somen that the culprits involved in the assault on the three persons will be booked at the earliest time possible.
It may be mentioned that the three persons were severely assaulted on January 14 last at New Bazar's Salem Veng in Churachandpur by some unknown miscreants.
They were said to have survived a life attempt.
A JAC has been formed against the assault on the three persons.
According to source, the JAC had submitted a memorandum to the government on January 17 demanding justice on the matter.
Following the memorandum, the JAC was invited for talk today.
The five-point demands of the JAC included booking and delivering fitting punishment against the culprits involved in the brutal assault on three innocent persons at Cool Galaxy, Salem Veng in Churachandpur on January 14 around 5.30pm.The other demands raised by the JAC included payment of compensation for the victims, formulation of mechanism to contain the violation of SoO agreement by its signatory groups, to upgrade state force to check the frequent assault on minority communities in Churachandpur and to control the tendency of assault against innocents after any rival fight between underground groups in the hill in order to prevent communal enmity.
The memorandum cautioned that the JAC would launch intensified agitation in collaboration with the people of the state if their demands are not heeded within four days from its submission.
The JAC was today assured of booking the culprits involved in the assault on the three persons by Law and Legislative Affairs Minister, Th Debendra, who is also taking the charge of CM in absentia.
The JAC has a meeting with the government representatives today around 12.30pm at the office chamber of Law and Legislative Affairs Minister at Old Secretariat.
