Two more deaths logged

Imphal, August 10 2022:
Manipur logged two more deaths in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deceased persons due to the virus to 2140.The two deceased persons are from Imphal East and Bishnupur, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting a report from the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
While one of them have had the first dose of the vaccine, the other had taken the second dose as well.
The State, also reported 38 new cases in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,39,446 including 5019 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is now 243 including 5 Central security personnel.
The positive statuses of the 38 persons were confirmed during testing at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (35) .
The 38 positive cases, all from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (9), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Ukhrul (5), Kangpokpi (1), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (1) and Churachandpur (11) .
The 38 cases were detected while testing a total of 1036 samples to peg the daily positivity rate at 3.7 percent.
On the other hand 26 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (22), RIMS (2) and SHRI (2) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,37,063 including 5007 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 98.29 percent.
On August 9, 1306 doses were administered to take the total number of vaccinated people to 31,35,716 including 12,92,918 who have received the second dose and 2,20,373 who have received the precautionary dose.
Overall 54.15 percent of the eligible population have received the second dose while 62.25 percent have received the first dose.
Out of 38 Covid beds at INIMS, 9 are occupied while at RIMS out of 62 Covid beds, 18 are occupied.
