LPG price hiked for third time in May

The price of LPG has been hiked again as the Government of India revised the LPG price for the third time during the current month.
As per the latest revised rates which came into effect from today, the price of subsidised LPG refill (14.2 Kg) has been hiked by Rs 3 .
Accordingly, one LPG refill of 14.2 Kg capacity now costs Rs 1154.50 in the State.
The price of the same refill was Rs 1151.50 from May 7 till yesterday.
The price of commercial LPG refill (19 Kg) has also been hiked by Rs 8 .
As such, the commercial refill is now priced at Rs 2758 against its earlier price of Rs 2750 (May 7 to 18).
Further, the price of subsidised domestic refill of 5 Kg has been hiked by Rs 2 from Rs 422.50 to Rs 424.50 .
The subsidised LPG refills of 14.2 Kg and 5 Kg were priced at Rs 1101.50 and Rs 404.50 respectively from May 1 to 7 while the commercial cylinder of 19 Kg cost Rs 2759 .
Livemint adds from Delhi : Oil marketing companies (OMC) have hiked the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 3.50 with immediate effect.
This increase now makes a 14 Kg cylinder cost Rs 1003 in Delhi.
In Mumbai, the domestic LPG price will be Rs1002.50 per cylinder.
Whereas, in Kolkata, a consumer will have to shell out Rs 1,029 for a 14-kg cylinder.
At the same time a customer will have to spend Rs 1,058.50 in Chennai from today for a domestic cylinder.
The hike comes on the back of a Rs 50 per cylinder increase effected on May 7.Prior to that, prices were increased by the same amount on March 22 .
Earlier this month, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased on May 1 by around Rs 102 to Rs 2,355.5 in Delhi.
The price of a 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder was also increased to Rs 655 .
After the assembly elections held in five states, the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG are being increased continuously.
On March 22, the subsidised domestic LPG cylinder increased by Rs 50 .
Earlier, after 6 October 2021, there was no change in the rate of domestic LPG cylinders.
