Transformer standing precariously at Noney

Noney, May 19 2022:
A few houses including one Church were damaged by a major landslide at Longmai Part-III along Imphal-Jiribam road in Noney district today.
Reportedly, the landslide was triggered by the non stop rain and expansion work of NH-37 to double lane.
It is further reported that some seven-eight houses and a Church courtyard at Longmai Part-III and a GI pipe supplying water to Noney Bazar area sank due to the landslide.
Meanwhile, Villages Council Longmai Area (VCLA) has written to the Deputy General Manager of NHIDCL, PMU -Noney to relocate the High Tension line and transformer being installed at View Land, Longmai Part-III.

In a statement, VCLA said that the 160 KVA oil cooled transformer and a High Tension line from the 33KVA Noney Sub-Station feeding the 11 KVA Noney Station being installed at View Land, Longmai Part-II, with its post standing a few feet is on the verge of collapsing due to the landslide.
It also said the HT line is the only feeder for many neighbouring villages in Noney district.
