Skilling of 'Covid returnees' soon: Dingo

Labour minister H Dingo has informed that the department will organise a skill development training programme for youth of the state, who lost their jobs after returning home leaving their jobs during the peak of Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing a press conference at his New Secretariat office here on Thursday, Dingo said that the training programme, which will be organised under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme with NEC funding, will be conducted as part of the government's 100 days programme.
Manipur Society for Skill Development (MSSD) will be conducting the training programme under the aegis of National Skill Development Corporation.
Informing that the department has a list of 9400 eligible trainees for the training programme, he urged the eligible youth to register their names on the official website of MSSD.
Training provider KB Philanthropy's CEO Laishram Manoranjan explained that the training programme will be of 12-hour duration and include sessions on orientation, financial literacy and digital literacy based on 11 job roles.
Certificates will be issued to the successful trainees under National Skill Development Corporation, which can be used at the time of applying for new jobs or get loans for starting new ventures, he added.
