Imphal, May 19 2022:
As a part of its academic campaign Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi', Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) inspected Moirangkhom Junior High School, where no students were found present due to rain, inspite of the teachers reporting for duty.
The MSF team also scanned Shyamasakhi High School and reportedly found various irregularities.
The school remained empty without any teachers as they all went back after signing on the attendance register, MSF general secretary Hijam Roshan told newspersons, while asserting that if teachers are not interested in teaching, then the government should give the whole year as holiday for such teachers.
The absence of all the teachers before the school hours ended signified that the school has no authority, Roshan continued, while informing that the school has six primary and 10 high school teachers.
Suggesting that teachers do not consider themselves as the other government employees and opt for the comfort of home taking undue advantage of flooding, he continued that only one student of class VII attended the school.
As such, the teachers called it a holiday for the school instead of teaching the student.
While denouncing such irresponsible acts of the teachers, he urged the government and department concerned to take up necessary steps in this regard.
