Committee decries CM's statement on Heritage Park

Imphal, August 02 2022: The Demand Committee on Construction of Ethnic Heritage Park, Keibul Lamjao has denounced the statement made by Chief Minister N Biren with regard to construction of Sangai Ethnic Heritage Park at Moirang Khunou during Tuesday's sitting of the assembly.

While contending the CM's statements and observation were flawed, Committee's media cell Salam Somorjit informed that CM Biren's remarks in assembly about Keibul Lamjao National Park and construction of the Heritage Park were far from the truth.

Pointing out that the National Park was established after forefathers of Keibul Lamjao donated hundreds of 'Pari' of paddy field to the government, the media cell informed that the present-day residents of Keibul villages also offered donation of another 15-20 pari of agricultural land for construction of the heritage park.

However, to their utter disbelief, the heritage site has been shifted to Moirang Khunou, he added.
