Gun battle in Tamu, no casualty

Imphal, February 11 2022:
A fierce gun battle broke out between unknown groups in Myanmar near the Indo-Myanmar border on Friday.
The gunfight took place along a road leading to Namphalong market of Tamu district, Myanmar, which is adjacent to Sunrise Ground, Moreh near the Indo-Myanmar border pillar number 78 on Friday around 4.55 pm.
Media persons, who tried to take a closer look, spotted some people in civilian clothes equipped with assault rifles firing retaliation shots to another armed group, shooting at them, just near the border fencing.
In the absence of security forces, civilians of Moreh gathered near the border to see the gunftght.
Later, troops of 43 Assam Rifles beefed up security along the border with round the clock patrolling to prevent unwanted incidents.
There is no report of any casualty till the time of filing this report.
