Ukhrul, November 03 2021:
The Die-in harness Applicants' Association of Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (DAA-UADC) has expressed its gratitude to chief minister N Biren Singh for his assurance to the association in the matter of delayed appointment order under the die-in-harness scheme.
In a statement the association's secretary K Nathan said that the aggrieved applicants apprised the matter of the pending appointment order to CM Biren recently and accordingly the latter assured them of his intervention and that he would look into their appeal for an early appointment order under the scheme.
The secretary said that owing to the delayed appointment order, the applicants have been going through a hard time for the last many years, adding that some of them even passed away in the course of waiting for their appointment order.
According to Nathan, there are no such pending cases in other districts of the state and the applicants in Ukhrul district are the only ones facing delayed appointment order, which is totally unfair.
