57 new cases, one death reported

Imphal, November 03 2021:
57 new Covid positive cases were registered in Manipur in the last 24 hours and one fully vaccinated person, however with co-morbidities, succumbed to the contagion.
According to State's COVID-19 Common Control Room, 56 persons from the general population and 1 Central security personnel tested positive for the virus at RIMS (14), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (38) across the State.
The positive cases were detected while testing 1686 samples to take the positivity rate of November 3 to 3.4 percent with Imphal East topping with 8.5 percent.
Imphal West logged the highest number of cases among the general population with 29 followed by Imphal East (19), Bishnupur (2), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (2), Thoubal (1) and Senapati (1), the control room stated.
Meanwhile the single death reported by the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee belonged to Imphal East and with it the cumulative number of deaths is 1926, it said.
Against the 57 active cases registered, 56 persons from home isolation (13), JNIMS (13) and CCCs (30) have been discharged within the same period.
With this, the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,23,899 including 4338 Central security personnel and the cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,21,269 which include 4319 Central security personnel.
Thus, the recovery rate is 97.88 percent and there are 704 active cases (general population- 690 and Central security personnel 14), it said.
The common control room also informed that 423 D-type and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur as on November 2.Further, it said that 11089 doses of Covid vaccines were administered as on November 2 taking the total doses administered to 19,88,634 and number of fully inoculated persons to 7,37,384 .
With this, Manipur has clocked a second dose inoculation rate of 31.50 percent, it said.
The vaccination rate, however, reported as on November 1 (i.e November 2 update) was 37.53 pc and a major change in the figure of today's district-wise vaccination rate table can be seen.
In the latest update, Imphal West is on top in terms of second dose vaccination rate among all the districts with 45.73 percent and Kangpokpi remains the least vaccinated district with only 8.59 percent.
The second dose vaccination rate (in percent) in the remaining districts as enumerated in the table are Jiribam (45.21), Kakching (41.91), Imphal East (40.66), Chandel (37.32), Bishnupur (34.62), Churachandpur (32.99), Pherzawl (25.27), Thoubal (25.26), Noney (21.27), Tengnoupal (20.63), Senapati (19.23), Tamenglong (18.85), Kamjong (14.76) and Ukhrul (13.44) .
