Governor La Ganesan has conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Diwali which falls on November 4 .
In his message he stated that Diwali is one of the biggest festivals of Hindus and celebrated throughout the country.
This festival of light signifies the triumph of good over evil, he said and hoped for the light of Diwali to dispel hatred, enmity and disunity among the people of the State and herald a period of peace and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also extended his best wishes to the people.
Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, the CM said, and addressed the symbolism of the festival as being the victory of righteousness over evil, brightness over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and truth over falsity.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Y Khemchand Singh also sent his warm greetings and remarked that Diwali signifies the rekindling of inner light over spiritual darkness in oneself.
Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh, Tourism Minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh also conveyed their greetings and urged all to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs.
Consumer Affairs Minister Th Satyabrata Singh, Forest Minster Awangboi Newmai also greeted
the people.
