Army clears landslide at Tamei

Tamenglong, June 27 2021: Indian Army unit at Tamei extended much needed assistance to village authorities of Tamei, Tamah and Liangmai villages by deploying its personnel & equipment and repairing multiple landslide affected stretches along Imphal-Tamenglong Road on June 2 3 and June 27 in Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts of Manipur.

Every year with the onset of monsoon these stretches along the mountainous Imphal -Tamenglong Road are affected by frequent landslides.

"The populace of the local community expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the assistance provided by the Indian Army to repair and secure the landslide affected areas," said a press release by the battalion.

It added that the Tamei Bn has been extending such assistance to the local community on many occasions and is thereby instilling a sense of well being and safety among the local community in its area of responsibility.
