Exhibition on 71st Amendment of Constitution begins

Imphal, August 31 2022:
An exhibition of photos and documents relating to the implementation of 71st Amendment under which Manipuri language was included in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution on August 31, 1992 kicked off from Wednesday at Manipur Public Library, BT Road, here.
Ex-minister Kh Jibon inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of CPI(M) Manipur state committee secretary Ksh Shanta, former chief secretary O Nabakishore, Manipur Library Association (MALA) president Kangjam Chaoba, writer L Memo, Naharol Sahitya Parishad secretary Dr H Tomba, Manipur Literary Society secretary Naorem Rajendro, Ashangba Communication managing director A Netrajit and noted Manipuri language movement activist Sarat Salam.
Photos relating to movement for inclusion of Manipuri language in the 8th Schedule and a memorandum signed by 221 MPs of Parliament are among other photos and documents which are being showcased in the exhibition which will continue till September 4.The exhibition is open for public viewing from 2 pm
till 6.30 pm .
