UNLF condoles demise of Ngangom Binod

United National Liberation Front: Manipur and its Army Wing Manipur People's Army (MPA) have extended their deepest condolences at the demise of former member of UNLF, Ngangom Binod on February 21 due to an illness.
A statement from UNLF said that Ngangom Binod was born on January 16, 1943 to Ngangom Ibohal and Ngangom (O) Ibecha Leima from Haobam Marak.
He joined the party in 1968 and served it in various capacities.
He was also jailed in 1969 when the Government launched its efforts to quell the revolutionary movement.
The statement added that Ngangom Binod was deeply involved in agricultural work as he was a firm believer of UNLF's concept of food security and non-dependence on others.
Ngangom Binod also served as a member of UNLF's Advisory Committee for a few years and he believed in the goals of UNLF such as fostering brotherhood among the different communities residing in Manipur, regaining Manipur's lost independence and the creation of an egalitarian society till his last breath, the statement added.
UNLF and MPA also shared the grief of the bereaved family, friends and well wishers and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
