Dry Run for evacuation of poll personnel held

Imphal, February 24 2022:
In connection with the election to Manipur Legislative Assembly 2022, a dry run for urgent evacuation of polling and security personnel by helicopter from remote locations for immediate medical care was conducted on Thursday.
The Helicopter started from Imphal Airport to Parbung via Kangla, Kangla to Kasom Khullen and back to the Airport, where the helicopter will be stationed from February 27 to March 1 for the Phase-I Poll in five electoral districts.
For Phase-II, which is scheduled to be held on March 5 in six electoral districts, the helicopter will be stationed at the Airport from March 4 to 6.As per the Medical Emergency Response Plan, the helicopter, after airlifting casualty polling and security personnel from remote location, will land at Kangla.
Two Helicopter Rapid Response Teams will station with full preparedness for evacuation of casualties to hospitals.
The composition of Helicopter Rapid Response Team will be four doctors, six nurses and six paramedics.
Additional chief electoral officer Naorem Praveen Singh, Election OSD Ganesh Nagarajan and State nodal officer for Health Dr Tomcha Khuman also took part in the dry run for evacuation of polling and security personnel.
A dedicated 24/7 State Command Centre under the supervision of State health nodal officer Dr Tomcha had been set up to promptly respond to the casualty/incident.
District Command Centres under the supervision of District CMOs and Assembly Constituency Level Rapid Response Teams (RRT) had also been set up for all the 60 Assembly Constituencies with a medical officer and support staff.
Two Helicopter RRTs service wiD be utilized for emergency casualties for far flung areas.
