Special observers review poll preparedness

As the election for Chandel and Tengnoupal ACs is just a week away, polling for Absentee Voters for the two constituencies in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts began on Thursday.
Altogether 74 people including citizens over 80 years of age and persons with disability are eligible to cast their votes at home as Absentee Voters.
Of the total, 19 people are from Tengnoupal and 55 from Chandel.
Talking to media persons, Additional DEO Firoj Khan informed that out of five teams, three were dispersed from the DC office complex for Chandel AC and two teams will be dispersed on Friday for Tengnoupal AC.
The second (dispersal of the teams will be done, on February 26 for Chandel and on March 1 for Tengnoupal district, he added.
He further informed that a facilitation centre for Postal ballot for voters on election duty will remain open till Friday at C&D Block, Multipurpose Hall DC complex.
He also informed that same facilitation centre will be open at Maha Union Ground on March 3 and 4 where dispersal of polling personnel will be held.
The Additional DEO also informed that on Wednesday special observers Arunkumar (police) and Rajesh Tuteja (expenditure) visited Chandel district and took stock of preparedness in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts.
The special observers had a review meeting with the District Election Officer and the other officials of the two constituencies at DC office Chandel.
