Striking a tough stand against those perpetraitng poll related violences and master miniding the same, Congress candidate in Nambol Assembly Constituency N Loken has assured that after the Congress returns to power, all those orchestrating the violence will be put behind bars.
Speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony of MPCC president and Congress candidate at Leimapokpam in Nambol AC, former Chief Minister and CLP leader O Ibobi said that it is obvious from the narratives of womenfolk of Thoubal, Wabagai and the whole of Manipur, that people are suffering under the regime of the BJP.
It is time that they are uprooted from the soil of Manipur, he added.
Mocking at the free cooking gas connection scheme of the BJP, Ibobi said that it is a joke that a free gas connection coupled with a filled cylinder are given, but when a refill is needed, the family has to fork out Rs 2000 .
This nothing but a cruel joke played on the poor people, he added.

The former Chief Minister also alleged that live bullets are being presented at every household in Keirao AC with the addendum that they should vote for the BJP.
Shoudl this brazen show of muscle and gun power be tolerated, he questioned.
Such show of brute force and intimidation was unheard of when the Congress was at the helm of power, said the former Chief Minister and questioned where the claim of the BJP that law and order situation has improved gone to.
The BJP is now wary of the fact that the people of Manipur are today very disillusioned and agnry with the party.
It is for this very reason why Union Ministers of the BJP have been making a beeline for Manipur, every day, he added.
Just like in West Bengal, Ministers of the BJP including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Nitin Gadkari have come here with Amit Shah even going on a door to door campaigning.
All these are instances that the BJP is now apprehensive of being voted out of power, he added.
The BJP is a sectarian and communal party and thrives on dividing the people, alleged O Ibobi.
The people, cutting across the hills and valley are today aware of the policies of the BJP, said Ibobi and appealed to everyone to vote for the Congress and ensure that the saffron party is sent packing after the election.
N Loken who is contesting in Nambol AC said that the Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance (MPSA) consists of different political parties, each having their own ideology.
All the partners have come together so that the BJP is voted out of power for the sake of the people and the future of the land, added Loken.
People of Nambol AC which from across 33 villages and 45 polling stations, save for some polling stations at Utlou, have come together to back me to save the land and the future, said Loken.
Loken who is also the sitting MLA from the said Constituency pledged that he will abide by the wishes and aspirations of the people.
He also extended gratitude to all those who contributed their mite to the flag hoisting ceremony.
AICC Manipur-in-charge Bhakta Charan Das, Dr M Nara of CPI and leaders of other constituent partners of MPSA also addressed the gathering.
