Churachandpur, February 24 2022:
Former Lok Sabha MP Kim Gangte has asserted that the secular principle of the country has come under threat during the BJP rule.
Addressing a press meet held at her residence here on Thursday, Kim Gangte stated that her reason of quitting the saffron party was that it stands for one nation and one religion.
She also contended that the BJP's vigorous attempt to impose Hindi language on all the people is not healthy for India, which is known for its secular principle and ethnic diversity.
Stating that what PM Modi is doing is not a good sign when it comes to restrictions on food habits of people and their dresses, Kim alleged that BJP is trying to impose Hindutva and their diktats on others in all aspects.
Such wanton violation of freedom of religion is very undemocratic and when observed from all angles it has adversely affected the people and there is neither any rhyme nor reasons to give vote to the BJP under which the poor becomes poorer and rich richer, she maintained.
Kim alleged that while BJP government is pretending to be discouraging poppy plantation, it is in fact abetting sale of illicit drugs in other areas of the state, while adding that the government claims to have provided tap water to the people but in reality there is nothing to be benefitted from it.
