Senapati, April 30 2023:
The All Naga Students' Asso-ciation, Manipur (ANSAM) has urged the Government to take immediate measures to bring quality education in Government high schools and higher secondary schools in the hill districts of Manipur.
In a statement issued today, the Naga student body said that they have taken serious note of the acute shortage of all basic and educational infrastructures from the reports of the school authorities in hill districts.
It then appealed to the Government to open honours courses of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, MA and MSc courses in Political Science, Zoology, Botany and new disciplines particularly B.Com, Geography, Sociology, Philosophy, Statistics and Defence Studies in United College Lambung, Chandel at the earliest.
ANSAM claimed that the growing number of students pursuing Commerce, Geography, Sociology and Statistics in various feeder schools in Chandel including Maha Union Govern- ment Higher Secondary School, St Peter's Higher Secondary School, Anallon Christian Higher Secondary School, Sugnu and SEMCO Higher School has put tremendous pressures in making avenues of higher studies available.
Claiming that there is shortage of teaching staff at Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School, ANSAM urged the department concerned to revert the transfer order of Nula Roxson (Hindi teacher), Meena (Matriculate teacher) and Hmanhring (Matriculate teacher) from Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School.
The ANSAM also sought attention of the State Government to provide adequate teachers of high school and higher secondary sections to Chakpikarong Higher Secondary school in the interest of the students.
The ANSAM added, "Posts of Principal and Vice-Principal are also lying vacant in Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School, apart from not having Chowkidar" .
