Mann Ki Baat echoes in State, thousands turn up

As in other parts of the country and abroad, the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio programme 'Mann ki Baat' was aired at different places in Manipur too, today.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey listened to the broadcast through All India Radio and Doordarshan during a special screening held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan while Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with Union Minister of Environ- ment, Forest & Climate Change Bhupender Yadav listened to the Prime Minister's address at Sendra.
Bhupender Yadav arrived in the State yesterday on a two-day visit.
The programme at Loktak organized by the Loktak Development Authority was participated by a large number of locals and fishermen of the area.

In today's edition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Manipur's own Vijayashanti Devi, who makes clothes from lotus fibres.
Vijayashanti Devi was mentioned in the earlier episode of Mann ki Baat too. At Raj Bhavan, the Governor said that the first episode of Prime Minister's Mann Ki Baat was aired on October 3, 2014 .
The Prime Minister shared his vision for the country through this programme and seeks active participation of citizens in the Nation building process, she continued.
Saying that the primary objective of the programme is to create a direct connect between the Prime Minister and the citizens, Anusuiya Uikey maintained that the speciality of the programme is that villagers, farmers, labourers, women working in the fields can listen to it through All India Radio while doing their work.
The Governor also said that the Prime Minister discussed every aspect of society including religion, culture, art, disaster, treatment of patients, architec- ture etc, from time to time in the radio programme.
She went on to state that Mann Ki Baat is not just a radio programme but also a mirror of the overall development of India and an expression of public participation.
Through this programme, soldiers, students, sports-persons and overall population have been motivated to get vaccinated against Covid, serve the Nation and face examinations courageously, she said and added that the Prime Minister has also been building awareness on climate change, waste management, energy crisis, cleanliness etc through the radio programme.
Anusuiya Uikey conveyed that the Prime Minis- ter has mentioned 500 individuals and 250 organiza- tions in the Mann Ki Baat.
The Governor thanked Prasar Bharati for organising the event and also the ten people from the State who have been mentioned in the Mann Ki Baat so far.
Later, the Governor opened a photo exhibition at Raj Bhavan.
The exhibition was organised by the Central Bureau of Communi- cations, Imphal.
Director, PIB, Imphal, Engam Pame, Director (Engineering) AIR & DDK, Imphal N Nandakumar, Assistant Director DDK(News) Dr A Ibomcha Sharma, Assistant Director (News) AIR, Imphal Gin Gangte, DC Imphal West Th Kiran-kumar, officers from AIR and DDK, Imphal, Padma Awardees, film and sports personalities attended the programme.
BJP Thangmeiband Man-dal also organised a similar programme at Khwairam-band Keithel with MLA Kh Joykisan, BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi and womenfolk in large numbers as audience.
A Sarda Devi said that the Mann Ki Baat was launched to build a platform for the Prime Minister to interact with the people of the country including those living in remote and interior places.
Saying that the Prime Minister has been inspiring many Indians through the radio programme, A Sarda maintained that the popularity of Mann Ki Baat is also growing among the foreign Nationals.
She claimed that Mann Ki Baat may be inducted in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Sarda claimed that Mann KI Baat is not a politically motivated programme.
Saying that the Prime Minister has also been sharing the inspiring journey of achievers in the field of sports, arts, entrepreneurship etc, the BJP State unit president continued that the Prime Minister takes empowerment of youth and women and children with utmost seriousness.
She thanked all the audience at Khwairamband Keithel for listening to the Prime Minister's address.
Thangmeiband Constituency MLA Kh Joykisan, on the other hand, expressed desire for every Indian to listen to Mann Ki Baat irrespective of their political affiliations.
Mann Ki Baat was also broadcast at the residence of Mayang Imphal AC MLA Kongkham Robindro at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai.
