COVID-19 mass vaccination organised at Hengbung

Kangpokpi, June 27 2021:
In a sterling effort towards Covid vaccination among the masses in Kangpokpi District, the Christian-dominated district embarked on mass Covishield vaccination even on Sunday at Hengbung village today.
Kangpokpi District is among the few low percentage districts in vaccination with about 16 percent only.
The medical department and Kangpokpi AC MLA, Nemcha Kipgen have been tirelessly pushing forward the advocacy for mass vaccination in the district and Kangpokpi AC while the District Magistrate/DC had also instructed the SDOs to begin extensive advocacy with regards to vaccination in their respective jurisdiction.
Mass Covishield vaccination was held today at Hengbung village under the supervision of Dr Paotinlal Haokip, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kangpokpi, where 310 persons were vaccinated, the highest in the district so far.
Among the 310 people, one Dialysis patient and another Hemiparesis patient were also vaccinated at their respective residence in Hengbung village by the medical team.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh in his facebook post acknowledged the sterling effort of the medical department for conducting mass vaccination even on Sunday.
"Please remember, no one is safe until everyone is safe", said the Chief Minister.
Besides, an advocacy programme on vaccination was also held at various places in Kangpokpi AC.
An advocacy programme on vaccination and Tuberculosis was held at Daili village under the supervision of Dr Pilhing, MO in charge of PHC Kalapahar and Dr Len Kamkhosat Khongsai, District Tuberculosis Officer in collaboration with the concerned COVID Task Force while a similar advocacy programme was held at Tumnoupokpi community hall in collaboration with CTF Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi.
Another advocacy programme on vaccination was held at Haipi village by Dr Paotinlal Haokip, MS District Hospital Kangpokpi and Dr Pilhing, MO in charge of PHC Kalapahar in the presence of Haipi village authority, Church leaders, women society and youth leaders.
As instructed by the local MLA, Nemcha Kipgen in the third review meeting, all the seven COVID Task Forces of Kangpokpi AC have begun extensive awareness drives to generate awareness among the people in their respective area.
Meanwhile, with six more new infections detected in the last 24 hours in the district and following three COVID patients cured and discharged from Home Isolation today, the total number of active cases in
the district stands at 140 .
