AIM foundation day celebration ends

Imphal, November 24 2022:
A teaching and presentation programme organised as part of the 2-day celebration of the 16th Foundation Day of Academy of Indigenous Music (AIM) culminated at Bamon kampu Mayai Leikai community hall on Thursday.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, ex-MLA Nahakpam Indrajit urged for preserving the dying art forms of the state, adding that art enthusiasts are general people with good bearings.
Informing that a Goura Leela dedicated in his father's name will be soon be performed in consultation with AIM; Indrajit observed that the society is gradually losing the decorum and respect towards elders and teachers, and as such, urged for re-cultivating the same.
He then appreciated the efforts of AIM and assured to extend all possible help to the organisation.
Presided over by Ranganiketan chairman and AIM advisor Ajit Das, the closing function was also attended by JNMDA director P Bilash as guest of honour.
Later, artistes of AIM presented Maibi Jagoi, Manipuri Classical dance, Dasha Avatar, Nilakamala Dhatashyam, Kirtan Cholom and Basanta Raas.
