Daily sale proceeds at some food stalls even crossed the Rs 10,000 mark though other stalls particularly garment do not fetch much.
A garment stall owner informed The People's Chronicle that visitor at this year's Sangai festival is still low compared to the past editions mainly due to opening of numerous venues stalling sale of garment items.
Recently celebrated Ningol Chakkou-ba festival could be another reason for fewer visitors at garment stalls, the stall owner opined.
A woman from Ghana, who is among those running foreign stalls at Hapta Kangjeibung told this daily that she came to take part in Manipur Sangai Festival for the first time this year but could not sell much items till date as the festival is just at the beginning stage.
However, the Ghanaian woman hopes of increasing visitors in the coming days and subsequently her sale proceeds.
She also said that foods of Manipur are quite tasty though some are spicy.
She further said that people of Manipur are hospitable.
On the other hand, State Platform for Disable People's Organisation president Yunus Khan thanked commerce & industries minister Nemcha Kipgen for providing a stall for Disabled Development Association Manipur at the Hapta Kangjeibung venue of Sangai festival.
He expressed hope that handloom and handicraft items produced by disabled people could be sold more if more stalls are provided in the next edition of Sangai festival.
